WINEGRID attended “Os Melhores Vinhos do Dão”

On July 8th, WINEGRID attended the “Os Melhores Vinhos do Dão”( Best Dão Wines) ceremony at Solar do Vinho do Dão, in Viseu. Besides sponsoring this relevant event to the wine sector in Portugal, WINEGRID, along with Ana Abrunhosa, minister for territorial cohesion, awarded to the winner of the competiton, Casa da Passarella for their wine Villa Oliveira Vinha das Pedras Altas Tinto 2016, a voucher for them to implement WINEGRID’s solutions. Congratulations to Casa da Passarella!

The event was organized by C.V.R Dão, an entity that represents the best wine producers in Dão region, some of which already have WINEGRID’s solutions in place. Thank you very much to Vinhos do Dão for the invitation and congratulations on the organization of such a pleasant event.

WINEGRID attended Vi-Tic – Château Luchey-Halde

On June 28th, WINEGRID attended the Vi-TIC event by INNO’VIN at Château Luchey-Halde, France.

Winegrowers, advisors and other vine and wine professionals from New Aquitaine, students and teachers, came and discovered digital and robotic innovations for winegrowing through a tour in the heart of the Château Luchey-Halde vineyard (Mérignac). A large part of the event was  devoted to demonstrations and the participants had the opportunity to discuss with company representatives as well as technical and scientific experts.

WINEGRID at HANNOVER MESSE 2022

Between May 30 – June 2, WINEGRID attended HANNOVER MESSE, in Germany.
This year, Portugal was the Partner Country of the HANNOVER MESSE 2022, the biggest industrial fair in the world, under the theme “Portugal Makes Sense”.
At the Open Ceremony WINEGRIDhad a special visit of the Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa.
It was an excellent opportunity to demonstrate to the German market our industry potential and, in our particular case, the benefits of WINEGRID Solutions for the Winemaking Industry.

WINEGRID at Salon VinEquip 2022

Between April 5th – 7th, WINEGRID attended the Salon VinEquip 2022, a first edition event that brought together the major wine industry suppliers, from the vine to the winery.
The event tooke place in Mâcon, France.

WATGRID obtained Recognition of Suitability in the practice of R&D activities

Watgrid S.A. obtained the Recognition of Suitability that certifies its competencies in the performance of R&D activities in the areas of ICT applied to the production process, in the Development and efficiency of Production Systems and in the area of ICT – Internet of Things, for the wine sector.

This recognition obtained in November 2019 is valid for a period of 8 years, allowing Watgrid S.A. to be highlighted in relation to other companies in the national wine sector, being an important factor of differentiation and valorization, demonstrating their competence to carry out R&D activities.

In this sense,  Watgrid S.A. is considered as a preferred solution in the projects submitted to the System of Tax Incentives in Business Research and Development (SIFIDE II) ensuring that fees for the provision of services involving R&D activities are eligible under their application.

The certification was achieved with the Agência Nacional de Inovação (ANI) (National Innovation Agency) and with the support of FI Group Portugal, specialists in the management of innovation and R&D projects.

SMARTAGEING – Decision Support System for Ageing White Port Wine

The SMARTAGEING project led by WINEGRID with the participation of Vallegre , Vinhos do Porto, S.A. involves researchers from the Laboratory of Food and Wine Chemistry of CQVR (Vila Real’s Chemistry Centre), from CITAB (Agroenvironmental and Biological Research and Technology Centre) and from INESC TEC (Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science) pole of the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, showing complementary competencies, in a multidisciplinary team versed in fields such as electronics, automation, information technology, physics and chemistry, which ensure the response to the needs of the project.

WINEGRID - SMARTAGEING - White port wine

The production of White Port, like other categories of Port, requires a high investment, logistics and labour requirement, which restrict the profitability of the product.
The aim of the SMARTAGEING project is to increase the predictability of the ageing process, to improve the ability to control the evolution and quality of white port in real-time, and also to act on crucial parameters in this process.
The monitoring solution will involve sensors capable of acquiring parameters considered essential for the ageing process (turbidity, color, pH, dissolved O2), with the ability to act simultaneously, in real-time, on critical variables (dissolved O2 and temperature) with the ultimate goal of optimizing this process, and allowing the achievement of a consistent quality of the final product.
The acquired data will be used for the creation of predictive models, in conjunction with a detailed chemical and sensory wine analysis.
