In 2014, after 14 years of applied scientific research on the topic of optical sensors at  Telecommunications Institute of University of Aveiro, Rogério Nogueira and Lúcia Bilro founded WATGRID. The main objective was to bring high quality, accurate and reliable liquid technology to the market, enabling the digitalization of processes in any liquid-related industry. A few months after the company’s foundation, a new product line was created to fill a gap identified: the precise, accurate, remote and real-time monitoring of the winemaking process.
